Wool Stockings

I bought a pair of these because I wanted to wear longhunter garb for the opening day of muzzleloader deer season. These are extremely warm and extremely comfortable. They are so long, they act sort of like long underwear. These aren’t just for my longhunter persona, I wear these when hunting with modern clothing and gear now too.

My favorite socks in the whole world. I own a pair for every day of the week and in every color.

I have these and the thick cotton stockings. So thankful for them both! Both help keep me warmer (medical) - the thick cotton are good (warmth) - but the wool are decidedly warmer. Both wool and cotton are great under jeans, under leggings, which will help them stay up. Fine for sleeping with nightie. If wearing with skirt / dress, you need garters or shirt stays etc. to hold up. Quality: Feel sturdy. Thickness: they're about as thick as a man's fluffy sweat sock - but are flat knitting not fluffy. If I could change anything: (1) Fit: They could reach high on the thigh for me (I'm 5'1"), but they need slightly wider tops. The entire sock seems to have the same diameter - make the tops wider. (2) My feet are very small - women's size 6 - the sock heel ends up about 4-5 inches above my heel. (tube socks would be great for me) Warmth: For winter, these would be nice for playing in the snow (in boots). They are substantial enough to offset a cool house easily. 5-stars - I will buy again.
