Fur Felt Hat Blank - Brown

This hat is very hand made and may take 16 to 28 weeks for shipment

Our brown fur felt hat blank has a linen, drawstring liner and it is sold untrimmed. It is hand blocked and stretched here at Townsends. The brim width is at least 5-1/2" (The brim size on the largest sizes may be a little smaller.) The crown is blocked to the regular round top and is about 4" high. Maximum hat size 7-3/4. Hat stretcher sold separately.

Worth the Money

Great frontier rifleman's hat, well worth the extra money for fur. Tough enough to be aged in the sun and stained with salt water for an authentic period look. I recommend a braided horsehair stampede string and brown silk tape be added to the rim edge to cover the iron stains from the stretching machine, as they can't be removed with cleaning.
