This great knife is made right here in the USA from 1095 high carbon steel. The "Roach Belly" shape of the blade easily dates back to the 18th Century. A oak handle is attached by three solid brass pins. The blade is about 5" long with the overall length being approximately 9 1/2". Sheath S-3265 will work with this knife style.

Worth the money, fantastic knife.

I've been watching Townsends for a while now, and it lead me here, I love bushcraft, and historical reenactment, and wanted an old fashioned looking knife. I got this roach belly knife liking how it looked. Right out of the box, the knife is perfect. It's straight with no bend or wave, the handle is comfortable and it has a pleasing weight to it. The part I was shocked about is, I won't have to sharpen it because it's already straight razor sharp which is how I like my knives to be, sharp enough to shave, and this one does it. I was not expecting it to be that sharp, if I did I would have bought the sheath along with it. But how often do knife companies care enough to make a knife that good and that sharp? Townsends or whoever it is they get their knives from thats who. I'll be a return customer. Townsends absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one.

Great classic style blade

The grind was very slightly uneven at the tip and handle is a little blocky. That is honestly the only negative things I could come up with. The design is executed to perfection. Holds an edge just as well as any other 1095 blade. The steel is exactly the thickness you need for a knife to take a little abuse but still slice with ease. You get a lot of knife for the price. Especially considering how much other roach belly knives sell for, if you can even find them. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Love it

Love this knife, feels really good in my hand. Good strong straight blade, and solid handle. Sheath fits knife really snug. I asked if a left handed sheath could be made and they jumped right on it. Top notch company. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you

Decent knife

It's a $40 knife. Rugged and historically accurate. Mine came with two minor issues, one cosmetic, the other less so. First, spots if bright red rust on the edge. This could have happened in transit, and really a tiny issue, easily fixed. Second, the point if the knife is slightly off center a few degrees due to a bow in the blade. This keeps one from slicing accurately. I can work around it, but I feel the quality control could be tighter. Took off a star for that. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.
